ELS Spotlight With Kelly Fatherree

Kelly Fatherree is a Branch Manager for Bodcaw Bank in Magnolia, Arkansas. A few of my job responsibilities include: providing leadership and guidance, training staff, and ensuring my branch runs smoothly and efficiently. I enjoy taking care of my customers. They come to me because I will take care of them! That is the best feeling! We couldn’t make in the financial industry without them!

What is the most important leadership lesson that you’ve learned?

Being the leader does not mean I have to do everything on my own. Instead, I lead by example and assign tasks to the most fitting!

What’s your biggest leadership struggle?

This goes hand and hand with the question above. Delegating tasks and not taking on everything myself! I make this a larger struggle, than what it really has to be!

What is the most effective daily habit you possess?

Being consistent with a routine and a smile! Every morning I come in with a smile, ready to work! I try to have a consistent routine for all of my employees, because it makes it easier on them.

What is the greatest advice you have ever been given?

For my dreams and goals to be realistic and attainable!

What does effective leadership look like to you?

Leading by example! I would never ask my employees to do something that I wouldn’t do. I believe that is the most effective leadership.

How did leadership change in 2021?

Us leaders, really had to step up our game in 2021. We had to adapt and be the change. We are filling in the void where we are needed and being compassionate to our employees who are not only committed to us but their families.
