ELS Spotlight With Kathleen McClung

Kathleen McClung is the Assistant Vice President, Loan Officer for Stone Bank in Mountain View, Arkansas.

My role is to grow and service our loan portfolio by building impactful relationships with current and future customers. I am also proud to be able to represent and promote our organization by being active in our local community.

What is the most effective daily habit you possess?
I like to start my workday at least 30 minutes before the branch opens. I utilize that time to map out the day’s tasks, properly caffeinate, and work on projects that require a little more focus

What is the most important leadership lesson that you’ve learned?
Do your best to remain adaptable throughout all situations. Change is constant, and it’s a catalyst for growth, but change can also be challenging. That is part of its nature, it is not meant to be comfortable. Determination, adaptability, and a genuine willingness to learn will always hold value.

What is the greatest advice you have ever been given?
“Something good will come of this”. It’s not necessarily advice, and I actually heard it while listening to an episode of The Moth, but it really resonated with me. I’ve adopted the phrase as a mantra of sorts, and it is written on a post-it taped to my computer monitor. When you’re looking for the good, it’s much easier to see the good.

The ELS Spotlight is an ongoing series to highlight our Emerging Leaders from around Arkansas.
