ELS Spotlight With Hayden Crancer

Hayden Crancer is an AVP, Branch Manager at Stone Bank in Little Rock, Arkansas.

My main responsibility of each day is to see that the branch operates efficiently. It is imperative that we follow the banks policies and procedures each day. I work closely with my team to ensure we are providing the best customer service experience. This allows us to meet the customers’ needs and grow lasting relationships. I have become a point of contact for my peers when questions or issues arise. Within the last year, I have been given the opportunity to take over our retail new hire training. This has also evolved into leading training sessions for existing employees.

What is the most important leadership lesson that you’ve learned?

The most important leadership lesson I’ve learned is take responsibility. Take responsibility for your mistakes, but also take responsibility for your role in leadership. You are responsible for meeting the needs of your bank, which includes the responsibility of developing your direct reports.

What is the most effective daily habit you possess?

Adaptability. In management, no two days are the same. My ability to adapt and change the course of my day allows me to meet the needs of my customers, team, and the bank.

What is the greatest advice you have ever been given?

The greatest advice I have ever been given is to be my authentic self. The moment I began living my life authentically, I was better able to connect with my team. This has allowed me to better leverage my team and push them beyond our goals to higher levels of success.

What does effective leadership look like to you?

My idea of effective leadership is inspiring my team towards higher performance, while advancing my financial institutions overall vision.

The ELS Spotlight is an ongoing series to highlight our Emerging Leaders from around Arkansas.
